Art In The Park
This is the event most people know. We have just celebrated our 10th annual Art in the Park (AIP) event. AIP features original work done by Woodford County or regional artists. The event starts Friday eventing of Memorial Day Weekend and continues through Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.
Every year AIP has 60 to 65 artists and approximately 4,000 visitors. This event draws people from all over the region. Artists registering for a vendors booth to sell their original artwork at this event have their name/business name immediately posted on the website. People/companies sponsoring the event have their name included in our advertising.
Versailles Christmas Parade
We have begun entering a float in the Christmas Parade and are recruiting high school students with artistic, carpentry, and related skills to design, make, and decorate the float. As a part of the Christmas holiday festivities Art in the Park participates in a decorated Christmas tree auction. All of the funds raised during this event are used for local charities. One of the trees in this year’s event is shown below. The artist used birds to illustrate “Inspire, dream, create.”
The Art Village believes in all forms of creative expression. We hold the annual event, give money to teachers for the use of art in any subject, and find other ways to support creativity in Woodford County.
